NABC Staff
 
NABC began operating with a staff of two in April, 2006. The following staff members are now available to serve the business development needs of northwestern Washington agriculture:

David Bauermeister - Executive Director. David was raised on a dry land wheat farm in Eastern Washington. He graduated from Washington State University with a degree in agronomy. David was most recently Director of the Spokane Ag Bureau for the Spokane Regional Chamber of Commerce, best known for producing Spokane Ag Expo each January.

Gary Merritt - Director of Marketing. Most recently Gary served as Director of Marketing for Tai Foong USA, a large seafood importer. As NABC Director of Marketing, Gary will be working directly with farmers and farm processors to help them develop sound marketing strategies. Gary has a master’s degree in business administration from the University of California, Irvine.

Zia Gipson – Director, Communications and Development. Zia came to NABC from an assignment as Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at Group Health Community Foundation. She is responsible for external publications and the Web site and for NABC's fundraising. Zia holds a degree in art history magna cum laude from University of Texas at Austin.

Jake Fowler – Project Manager. Before joining NABC Jake was Assistant Area Sales Manager at Alf Christenson Seed Company in Mount Vernon. Jake is a graduate of Washington State University with a degree in horticulture and he is a member of the American Seed Trade Association Future Seed Executives.

Sera Hartman - Office Administrator. Sera is a graduate of Western Washington University with a degree in environmental sciences. Most recently she worked with Kent Farmers Market, Evergreen State Fair, and Snohomish Festival of Pumpkins.
