Skagit Valley Farm Map & Guide
The 2008 edition of the popular Skagit Valley Farm Map is now available in Mount Vernon and the surrounding region. This free, full-color guide, launched in 2001 by former publisher Richard Royston, features a numbered map to farms and agriculture-supportive businesses.
New publisher Jean Shea and NABC's Sera Hartman recruited 40 local farms and related businesses to be part of the map this year. Twelve thousand maps have been distributed to farms, farmers markets, wineries, chambers of commerce, restaurants and retailers. The map will also be available on Washington State Ferries sailing to Anacortes and Mukilteo. Additional copies are available in NABC's Mount Vernon office.
Plans for the 2009 edition of the map are already in the works. Changes for next year will include an increased print run, a wider regional distribution and on-line access to the map's farm locator and listings, advertisers and local events.
