Whidbey Island Pastured Raised Beef – A perfect match to great local wines!

Whidbey Island Pastured Raised Beef will be paired with Homes Harbor Cellers in Freeland. Five Whidbey Island cattle ranchers have formed a local cooperative to bring high quality fresh pasture raised beef to the residents of Whidbey Island. The beef is locally processed by a USDA inspected facility and is being marketed under the Whidbey Island Grown Brand, currently sold exclusively at The Goose Community Grocery Store in Langley.

Ranchers participating in the program include Leland Long from Long Family Farm, Steve Seppa from Tesch Road Ranch, Don Sherman from Sherman Farms, Scotty Stevens from Stevens Family Farm and Sherry and Doug Wirth from Bethany Ridge Farms.

Whidbey Island Grown cattle are primarily angus, with some angus-Herford crosses. One of our producers is certified angus registered. All animals are humanely harvested at their farm sites. Our standards conform to Whidbey Island Grown Brand standards created by Whidbey Island producers.

Where’s the Beef?  It’s here on Whidbey Island!

Sales of Whidbey Island Grown pasture raised beef directly support local farming on Whidbey Island and help preserve the rural character of the Island. This program was developed with the support from the Northwest Agriculture Business Center, a non-profit organization located in Mount Vernon, WA and from Island residents wanting to assist local Island farming. All ranchers in the program are members of the Puget Sound Food Network.
