Resilerator Northwest

Business Skills Intensive for Mid-scale Farms

Looking to grow your farm business into a thriving and resilient enterprise? Seeking a strong foundation to scale up your production and systems? The Resilerator is like a business accelerator, but with an emphasis on long term sustainability instead of the rapid pursuit of short term profits.

Join Northwest Agriculture Business Center for an 11-week business skills intensive. The class meets virtually on Farmer Campus via Zoom, Tuesdays from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm Pacific from October 10th – December 19th with a break the week of November 21st. Limited to a small number of growers, this cohort-based program will meet weekly from October to December 2023 for discussions with experts and farmer peer-to-peer support.

Our program will begin with each participant completing a thorough Business Resilience Self-assessment. During the program, participants will use the self-assessment to identify goals and actions to be taken, and at the end of the program each participant will receive an hour of one-on-one technical assistance related to their goals.

What will be covered? Topics covered include business structures, labor, accounting and taxation, credit and cash flow,  insurance, environmental and marketing regulations, and branding.

Who is eligible to participate?

*If you meet most (but not all) of these criteria and are interested in participating, please contact us to discuss if you are an appropriate fit. Some of these seats may be held for beginning farmers. Contact Emily Manke emily@agbizcenter.org (360) 223-2008 to learn more.

Each participant completes an extensive Business Resilience Self-assessment prior to the first class and then uses their self-assessment throughout the rest of the program to identify goals and actions to be taken.

The Resilerator was developed over the course of more than six years by Poppy Davis through California FarmLink and other partners with funding from USDA and other sources. The lead instructors are Poppy Davis and Winona Dorris.
