Bilingual Program Specialist (Part-Time, Hybrid/Remote)
Background
The Northwest Agriculture Business Center (NABC) provides Northwest Washington farmers with the skills and resources they need to profitably and efficiently supply their products to consumers, retailers, wholesalers, foodservice operators, and food manufacturers. We deliver practical assistance in business development, access to financing, value-added product development, and marketing, with a strong focus on regional market development and access to markets.
Position Summary
The Bilingual Program Specialist will support NABC’s Latinx Business Development Program (LBDP), assisting Latino farmers and entrepreneurs in Northwest Washington. The role includes providing bilingual technical assistance in business development, market access, financing, and food distribution projects. The Specialist will also support client access to educational workshops and training opportunities, as well as facilitate engagement with USDA programs and resources.
This is a part-time, hybrid/remote position (16–20 hours per week) with occasional in-person meetings, workshops, and community events. The Bilingual Program Specialist reports directly to Alex Perez, Latinx Business Development Program Director.
Key Duties
- Create, develop and foster meaningful/trusting relationships with NABC clients and partner organizations.
- Prepare and distribute bilingual outreach and educational materials.
- Support program implementation to promote client business success.
- Increase producer participation in USDA grants and resources.
- Organize and coordinate Food Distribution Projects in partnership with Latinx farmers and other organizations.
- Support NABC’s social media presence in a bilingual (English/Spanish) format.
- Conduct outreach through social media, radio, community events, and bilingual meetings.
- Help plan and organize workshops for farm and small business development.
- Support recruitment and promotion for NABC’s computer training program.
- Assist with LBDP database management.
- Collaborate with NABC staff on program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Assist with preparation of grant reports (quarterly, semiannual, and annual).
- Attend occasional evening and weekend events.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (spoken and written).
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Interest in agriculture, business development, and community impact.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Experience working with diverse groups and underserved communities.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

- Knowledge of Northwest Washington farms and local businesses.
- Experience in the food, agriculture, or small business sectors.
- Familiarity with community-based organizations.
- Dependability, strong work ethic, and professional maturity.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly rate: $32.50/hour starting, increasing to $35.00/hour after 3 months.
- Hours: 15–20 hours per week.
- Mileage reimbursement: $0.70 per mile (state rate 2025).
- Technology support: Laptop provided, plus phone and internet stipend.
- Hybrid/Remote: Flexible remote work with occasional in-person responsibilities (office meetings, client consultations, team meetings, or farm/business visits).
